I'm trying to do genealogical research into this area but I live too far away to come down there willy nilly- my trip has to be planned. Does anyone know where (brick and mortor places) to get information from the 1890s to 1920s on Tanners Creek and Kempsville? I'd really like a place that has pictures, but it isnt necessary. Families that have been in that area then and since, as contacts, would be nice too.

Also, do the local libraries down there have news archives going back to these times, like on microfiche? Online only goes back so far.

Thanks for any help!

You might try contacting the central library for more info. Good luck.
