I'm in charge of the children's ministry at my church so I'm looking for some ideas of things they can do in the area. The ages go from infant to 18. Not all activities have to include all kids. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There is a miniature golf course in NN: Play A Round Golf & Games, 10814 Warwick Blvd, Newport News, VA 23601-3741, (757) 591-2800. The youth at the church I attend went there and played miniature golf and had pizza.

For older children, they could walk the Noland Trail at the Mariners Museum.

Man, there's all kinds of stuff. Programs at the VA Aquarium, at the Nautical Museum in Norfolk, the Children s Museum in Portsmouth, Mariner's Museum in NN, Newport News City Park has all kinds of nature trails. Seashore State Park in Va Beach. There is a place full of trampolines in Va Beach that the kids just eat up. Too many things to even remember. Our youth sometimes go camping at Triple R Ranch in Chesapeake.

I had the same question when I moved here as I work with kids on the autism spectrum and needed "outings" ideas. I have found ""My Active Child" is a nice resource to have. It will let keep you abreast on the typical every day things plus tell you about new events and deals. Find fun activities, lessons, playgroups, sports and more for your child in Hampton Roads, Virginia
