I am on Section 8 and am finding it difficult to rent in the fort eustis area and newport news,va area. It seems that many owners are afraid to rent to Section 8 families. It's stereotyping and its not fair. If anyone knows of any places let me know.

This area is very car dependent. Good Luck

You might want to look into Stuart Gardens which are located on Garden Drive which is in the East End (Downtown) of Newport News.
Another area you can check to see if they accept section 8 is Newsome Park although that area is not the greatest.

It's not stereotyping, it's smart business. Because this is what happens:

Just ask people what the worst areas in Newport News are. You don't have to mention Section 8. That will answer your question.

Sadly that is true...and the reason people get offended is cause there are people who work two jobs who get no free help in life...while others seem to get lots of freebies...and not all sec 8 people are bad renters but most are...sadly this is a fact and why people are afraid of sec 8...which is sad for those who are decent people...but think for a moment here whymany are upset...so many of the working poor are strafing, barely making it and get no help at all...I can full understand that, cause at one time, I was the working poor too.
