Hello,

I'm new to the area and was looking for some tips on a good sports bar to watch football on Sundays? I'm looking for a place that has the DiretTV package.

Thanks in advance.

What city?

Pretty much any of the AJ Gators in the area should have it.

Downtown Norfolk: Baxters. AJ Gators

Oldtown Portsmouth: Griffs, Roger Browns

Chain's: Buffalo Wild Wings

There's also a latino sports bar on s. plaza trail near holland intersection. AJ's is the best, though we've found a couple hole in the walls that are fun to go to as well.

Theres a place called Just George's in Virginia Beach. They have every game being played. I went there once when i was visiting the area and had a great time.

RJ's Sports Pub & Restaurant in Newport News is fantastic.

We were just at NY Grill & Bar on Holland. Had a great time, food was good and they have 99 cent tap beers. :-)

I've been going to the Red Dog on Colley. The food is so-so. Beers are fairly cheap. But it's good place to be if you want to watch football. Not too crowded, but definitely not empty.

O'Leary's Bar & Grill on Great Neck near Shore Dr is a great local sport's bar, the owner is a real sports junkie and they have every package imaginable! Great people and food too

Wanting to resurrect this one for Virginia Beach sports bars. Going out for the college games on Sat. and would like a lively place. Haven't ever really been sold on the Gator's franchises. Is there anything new in Town Center or elsewhere?

When I used to live there, I used to go regularly to Winner's on Wesleyan drive in Va. Beach. When I visit I have gone to Shorebreak on Shore Drive in VB. They always have the games on and it is a bigger place with big screens if you like that.
