You might start off with your budget and whether you are looking to rent or buy a home. Also, Traffic can be a concern and you might consider living close to where you are working.

We have two little kids as well and are also relocating to Va Beach. We're focusing our searches to stay in the areas of North Landing, Christopher Farms, Glenwood, Salem, Red Mill, Strawbridge, Ocean Lakes, Landstown, New Castle, Three Oaks, and Corporate Landing elementary schools. Not to say those are the only schools worth considering, they're just what fits for us and where we want to be.

I'll add in response to your initial frustration at lack of responses that this forum is much less active than some others. I live in northern VA right now, and that forum has lots of posts every day, whereas this one can sometimes go a day without any posts or responses at all. It's slow.

Almost every neighborhood is Virginia Beach is safe. The only neighborhoods you should stay away from are bayside, Newtown, and Seatack/birdneck.

Not to be difficult but you really aren't giving much info as to what your budget is or where youll have to commute to. As citydweller, in post #3 said, "you may want to live close to where you are working"... "Virginia Beach area" is not the same as saying "Virginia Beach" so who really knows what youre asking? Also, its summertime...around here people are active outside and generally not on these forums right about now so it will be slow for some time...Im surprised Lindsey is here and not on Atlantic Ave somewhere.
