Hi,

The fam and I are moving to the VB area in the spring. I have two young children under the age of three. Husband will be working in Chesapeake (Looks like near Povidence Junction?) Anyway, I'm not sure where we should live that would work well for us and would be safe and a great environment to live and raise our family. Any suggestions would be great! Thank you so much!

As I posted on another question today. We live in the Great Neck area and love it. We have children who are 13, 12, 7 & 3, and we love the schools in this part of the city, and I love the shopping area toward Hilltop and Lynnhaven. Best of luck with your move...

Kad, check out zip code 23456 and 23454. You didn't say what price range you will be looking in and what kind of amenities, etc are important to you. With more information, we can probably name some areas for you.

If he is working in Chesapeake then why not live in Chesapeake. I spent a few years in Great Bridge and here it is 9 years later and I still miss it badly.

Take a look at Great Bridge. It's a beautiful area in Chesapeake to live and bring up a family.

Speaking of family friendly neighborhoods - we are also looking in Va Bch. Does anyone have info on Courthouse Estates in the Kellam area?

What kind of information are you looking for? it is nice neighborhood in a fairly sought after school district. I do a lot of resale in Courthouse Estates due to the location and schools. Easy access to chesapeake, too.

I was just curious about the neighborhood and was wondering if anyone posting here lives there. We will be relocating to the area soon and have been looking at homes in Courthouse Estates. I have two small children and want the basics - good schools, safe and family friendly neighborhoods etc... Thanks!

Thank you all for the information. We're going to be renting for a while at first. Again, thank you for your suggestions, it's hard to figure it all out!
