We are thinking of relocating to VA Beach. Does anyone know of any neighborhoods with the following criteria?

1)family friendly neighborhoods
2)excellent schools
3)walking distance to the beach
4)400 to 550,00 range
5) Not too touristy
6) Within the VA Beach City School District

We have a three year old and a 5 five month old so a kid filled area would be great. Ideally, we would love a neighborhood with a community pool as well. Thanks to anyone and everyone that might answer. I appreciate it!!

Rebev,
Check the North End (above 40th st, at the Oceanfront).. Holly Road, etc.

Below 40th street is where the tourist attractions are concentrated. So there is a lot of traffic, tourists, and nonsense there between Memorial Day & Labor Day. The North End stays pretty quiet year round. There are some really beautiful houses for families in the North End neighborhood.. good luck, peace.

ps- there are also some nice houses out at Chic's Beach (Lookout Road area) & Ocean Park neighborhood (near the Lesner Bridge) that would put you close to some water (Chesapeake Bay).

Shadowlawn sounds like it might be up your alley, no community pool though.

I agree that Chic's Beach, the North End, and area off Great Neck and Shore Drive fit your criteria. dm if I can send more detailed options.
