My ex lives in VA Beach. He is diabetic, and is having severe issues with his teeth. The jaw bone seems to be weak and nearly unable to hold the teeth in anymore. Add to this the daily pain in his mouth, which is probably an infection set in.

He's making about $25,000 a year with no medical insurance. He's not eligible for any sort of Medicaid nor Medicare (he's 50 yo.). Most of the dental clinics in Hampton Roads are only for children. I/we really don't care if he loses those teeth, but I know the infection is bad - especially for a diabetic - and need to get at least some antibiotics in him. Hopefully not the expense of x-rays, extractions, etc.

Anyone have any suggestions where to get free/very low cost dental exams, or even a medical just to get the antibiotics? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I didn't. Went to their website, which didn't appear to be helpful. I am in Texas, and was trying to find out info on my own.

They have a clinic. I'm not sure how it works, but here is the number to the health department.

there is a dental school in Richmond VA, part of Medical College of Virginia (MCV), they do low to no cost dental care. I know it is a little bit of a drive, but really could be the best bet!!

There is also the Beach Health Clinic for medical. They have income restrictions of 200% of the federal poverty level. They don't do dental work but maybe they could give you a direction for the dental help.
