I am looking for info on Isle of Wight /Carrollton, VA. I have located a home in Eagle Harbor that looks great and is priced right, but I do not know anything about that area. Are the schools good? (Carrollton Elem/Smithfield High) What about the crime in that area? I never really hear about it on the news but of course people living there know more about it than the news stations do. Is there anything that I should be aware of before hand? Living in Williamsburg, when we first moved here the area was much smaller than we had desired. Now, we are use to that small town feel. Is this an area that is similar?

Any and all info would be very helpful!

Thanks!

I do not know about the schools, however I LOVE that area! You are correct about the crime - nothing, nada. The area is still relatively rural and you have to drive a little further for anything other than groceries or a few restaurants.

New construction is taking place - a little at a time so there should be more amenities coming soon.

I don't know about the schools in that area either, but i really like that area. Not a whole lot going on there, but not so far away that you couldn't get to places that are going on.

I want to say they built a shopping center right across from Eagle Harbor, or at least in the vicinity.

Good luck with that...
