Unfortunately, the weather is forecasted for T-Storms this afternoon and there's that haze in the sky, so being out and about isn't gonna be for us today..

We had a nice relaxing day. Our son called from Arkansas last evening and he's doing well. So that being said, a "nice" relaxing day. :-)

Brunch at Tradewinds was amazing! My father-in-law said that he thought it was better than The Jefferson (in Richmond). I told him that was crazy talk, but it was surprisingly very good. My hubby was amazed by the donut machine and chocolate fountain. And the view was nice too. We will definately be back! I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day.

Okay, so I wrote up my entire post for this weekend's events while I was at work... but CD was having problems. Now it's back up and I'm at home.

I will have the events posted tomorrow morning (hopefully...)

Ok, so I'm at work now. Here's what I managed to put together...

This weekend, we’ve got the Chesapeake Jubilee going on! It actually starts today, and there will be events going on until the 18th. Admission is only one dollar/day to enjoy wholesome food, various bands, rides, and even fireworks! This will be at the Chesapeake City Park on Greenbrier Parkway. Chesapeake Jubilee (http://www.chesapeakejubilee.org/index.html - broken link)

This Saturday at Town Point Park in Norfolk is the 7th annual Beer Festival! This event will occur between 2-6pm and will include tastings from nearly 3 dozen breweries. Let’s all raise a frosty stein to that!

At the Virginia War Museum in Newport News, they will be holding the Armed Forces Day Toy Soldier Show. All sorts of military models will be for sale and viewing. Such an event is great for the Military Fan in your family.

Also in Newport News on Saturday, at the Lee Hall Mansion, they will be holding a Civil War Van Tour along with a class on herbs, plants, and history of the Lee Hall Mansion. The tour includes visits to Mt. Carmel, Ox Ford, Hanover Station, Cold Harbor, and Wilcox’s Landing – reservations are required. Although there’s no website, the number is: 757-888-3371

In Suffolk, the YMCA is holding a special Teen Day this Saturday from 9-5! This event is FREE and open to all youth between the ages of 12 and 18 years of age. If you are not close to the Suffolk YMCA, transportation will also be free from all the other local YMCA’s.

Have a beautiful child? Want to enter your child in a pageant? This Saturday at the Contemporary Arts Center of VA in Virginia Beach, make sure to register by 10:45 for the First Annual Court of Miss Hampton Roads Pageant. Go here Miss Hampton Roads - Home for more information.

On Sunday, the Children’s Museum of Virginia in Portsmouth will be holding a special Puppetry Workshop!

The Newport News City Park will be holding a Japanese Tea Ceremony this Sunday.

The Israeli Independence Day will be celebrated this Sunday between 1-5pm at the Simon Family Jewish Community Center off of Grayson Road in Virginia Beach. Admission is Free and will include outdoor games, music, and an Israeli Marketplace.

Oh, and there’s the Redskins Beach Blitz going on this weekend, too...

Hey Kuharai. That's wonderful writing. You should be working for the newspaper. Thanks for all the info. I appreciate it and will keep checking back each week. Have a great weekend!
