Looking for Active Adult communities in Williamsburg that are truly Active, and that trend closer to 55-year-olds rather than 75-year-olds. We recently moved into a Northern VA 55+ community, we are in our mid-50s and have found that everyone seems to be 25 years older than us. We will likely relocate in a few years and looking for a community with more people close to our age.

We are not from the area but have looked extensively. The only two 55 plus are Colonial Heritage and Settlement at Powhatan (smaller in size). We toured Colonial Heritage with a package they offered and had the same concerns that you have regarding age. When we inquired we were told they could not release age demographics. I'm sure they will be building more. Good luck on your search.

I think what you both stated it is going to be the case. Remember they started to build homes in Colonial Heritage in 2005. If people that purchased at that point were 55 to 70 they are now 15 years older. And there were quite a few homes built during that period. For that reason some folks choose other non-age restricted neighborhoods like Fords Colony. They are you have people of all ages and families.
