Any suggestions on a car insurance agent in the Va Beach area? We currently have Shelter Insurance, and I don't believe they write policies for Virginia. Good rates?

All State is super. We have the "good driver" program, save alot and our home is insured by them as well. Harry Patterson on Newtown Road is a great agent. He really takes care of us, unlike the other agent we had. Never heard from the guy, never got a christmas card or nothing from him. Since we got Harry 4 years ago, we get calls and stop in to visit with him. Nice guy and great agent.

For the best rates, I would check out the usual suspects. I have a friend that swears by Geico. Progressive gave me a decent quote, but and I'm actually with California Casualty because they were the cheapest for me, and yes they are licensed to provide auto insurance in Virginia. Most of those have offices in the area but I've never set foot in one.

I've been with GEICO for 20 years and have only positive things to say. Our homeowners is with All State and when asked for a rate quote for auto they said that they couldn't come close to GEICO with 20 years of seniority. We pay approx $1000 annually for two 40 year old drivers and a 2001 Honda Civic and 2004 Honda Element with full coverage.

pbehson...sounds like a rotten agent you have. Geico couldn't come close for us! We're in our 40's and have a 2007 pickup and a 2008 car and our rates are 1200 annually WITH our RV as a 3rd vehicle

We have finally settled on USAA. Great price on car insurance 520 every six months with two cars full coverage and a old pick up with liability only. They also insure my house and have a great online bank.
