Asking because my sister works in a library there and people keep coming in without a mask. Even when she offers them one, some of them will mouth off at her, saying things like "it's only the flu" or "it's a hoax." But it's her life that's on the line and she has to work there.

If no one knows off hand, who would she call to find out? Her library director is allowing people with no masks so that's not the person to ask.

Not knowing which Hampton Road city your sister works in, how about contacting the Virginia Department of Health.

Yeh, she didn't want me to disclose which city she works in and she doesn't know who to ask. That's a good idea and I'll pass it along. Thank you

HERE'S HOW TO REPORT MASK VIOLATIONS IN VIRGINIA
There is a way for residents to make their concerns heard if a business or location isn’t enforcing the mask mandate or Phase 3 restrictions.

thank you for the help. I send the link to my sister and it's good to read what your governor actually said--these people should not be going into the library without masks. My sister has a friend whose co-worker tested positive and she's been exposed to him before he knew it and also she has to confront these idiots in the library. They actually yell at her. Yelling at her while not even wearing a mask--really inconsiderate!

I was thinking that if this is happening at a particular city's public library, that city government would be very interested in knowing the behavior of city employees etc. in addition to the state health department.

A little surprising - if I am not mistaken, all the libraries in Roanoke area are only doing curbside service.

Seems she should know the answer to that since she works there. Maybe she should follow her director’s lead.

She told me she already reported it to the health department. People are still coming in without masks and nothing is being done about it. I like that idea about reporting it to the city. Maybe that will work better. I'll pass the idea along to her. Thanks.
