Hi all. Can anyone offer any advice on the elementary schools in Virginia Beach? I am looking to teach in the Hampton Roads area and that is one district I've applied to. I've gotten some input on better neighborhoods/schools in other cities, but not VB. Basically, I'm looking to see if there are any schools I should avoid at all costs.

Thanks for any input!

Windsor Woods Elementary just rebuilt. Beautiful school and up to date networks for the kids to learn.

Corporate Landing Elementary, Red Mill Elementary, and Three Oaks Elementary are all popular.

I recommend Kingston, too. It is hard to find a position teaching elementary education in Va. Beach. Have you had any luck? I would avoid Rosemont, Glenwood, and White Oaks.

Truly, I don't think any schools in VB have to be avoided. A good friend of mine teaches at Parkway Elem (greenrun) and she LOVES it. The kids try and she feels like she is making a difference with them. And she takes are two kids out of district to her school, so she must feel like it is ok to do that!! If you can get in with VB schools, just do it!!

Other sought after schools are Christopher Farms, Princess Anne Elem, Strawbridge Elem.

Your best bet would be to check out Great Schools - Public and Private School Ratings, Reviews and Parent Community and see what they say!!
