I agree and I've been here 22 years! It's normally the younger crowd thinking shore drive is a drag strip and kill themselves or run pedestrians over after a nite of drinking.

Hi Mark--I just want you to know that I am enjoying your blog--the pictures are beautiful. I am out here in the Pacific NW (where it's also beautiful), but plan on moving to your area next year when I retire.

Actually a lot of those deaths are due to people acting like kids. One of the kicks is they drive at night with no lights on. Yes there is a long stretch with no street lights. Also the street appears to have the appearance of a straight road where you might think that you can drive a fast car and open it up. But actually the road swerves a bit from side to side as well as up and down, and there are very few guard rails. It actually is not about people not paying attention as it is people just driving stupid. I lived there 15 years.
