Is there anywhere I may SAFELY park my car either at or within SAFE walking distance without a charge at ORF or the Norfolk International Airport???

I am planning on flying out for a week (Flight Departs at 6:44PM). And will return to Norfolk @ 11:40 PM.
Don't think I will be able to get someone to take me and really rather not pay $100 for a dirty cab. Or pay to park at the airport which I am sure isn't cheap either esp. for a week.

Thanks..

Bikes, check out the parking with ORF. they have the deck parking that really isn't that expensive. the airport really isn't that accessible to other area's and you are getting home late. I wouldn't want to walk around there that late.

shelly

To find free parking that is safe around ORF is impossible! You should just park in the long term parking garage. It's safer that way. And besides, you would have to park off airport property to get "free" parking, and it's not even guaranteed if your car will be safe, or won't get towed by then.

What is that $7 a day to park at the Airport?? Am I reading this correctly..
NIA | Parking

Or are there any reputable/reliable shuttles that could pick me up from my house and won't charge an arm and a leg??
I am in Norfolk already (Ghent)
What about these folks?? ---> CAREY VIP Chauffeured Services - Limousines and Corporate Transportation

It was on the ORF web site. http://www.norfolkairport.com/transp...ortshuttle.htm
Looks to be $42 to and fro for Carey with a basic van/shuttle...Or perhaps that would be too much aggravation/anxiety as far as getting to ORF on time/being picked up time?

Thanks for the responses so far...

Do you have a friend that can drive you? That would be the cheapest way if you don't have the money to spend for long term parking. I normally take a cab or when we went to Hawaii, we did park in long term and it wasn't expensive in my opinion. It's actually less stressful taking your own vehicle than waiting for a ride cuz you can leave when you want to.

Yea, I can't think of anyone off the top the head who would take me but I guess $40 or so isn't too bad and leave when I want. Makes sense. Was hoping for free parking

Thanks!

Oh, please don't try to save money by parking your car for free somewhere! My first night here, we were staying at the Residence Inn at the Norfolk Airport and my car was broken into and several expensive items were stolen out of it.

I would hate for you to come back from your trip to a smashed in window.

I would say the airport is safe, but the surrounding area unfortunately has it's share of crime. The scum who stole my navigation and i-pod from my car saw the suction cup marks on my windshield while my valuables were stashed in my center console. I've heard people breaking into cars for spare change. It's sad what this economy has come to

Yes, the economy and everything else. One of my co-workers had his car broken into near his home in Chesapeake. They not only took his work tools (which they probably didnt' even know what they were used for) but his government i.d. badge. Something of no use to anyone but the person it belonged to and probably threw in the trash can later. It's a sad world we live in, but a daily routine for those who do things like this.
