We've been there the last 2 times we've visited VA. Won't ever go back though. Their menu isn't very "friendly" None of their items come with beans AND rice, its either or. Also, my fiancee' asked for some more guacomole for her meal, just a little scoop, and the waitress told her she couldn't do that... she'd have to spend $3.50 and get a small bowl of it. Ridiculous!!! If the original portion of it was like it was suppose to be then we wouldn't need to ask for more in the first place!!!

On the other hand, we did like Mi Casita. Very friendly there.

That place on Tidewater Dr. is good. I also heard they have a philly steak salad which is awesone. That is the only place around here I heard was good. I saw a commercial about the new philly steak sandwich at Subway and I was like...no that is not real.

Eww Barfway. I wouldn't eat there if someone paid me a million dollars. You get like 3 ounces of meat on a stinkin' roll and thats it. The bread really smells awful too. And the meat they sell its not fresh grilled in the store it comes prepackaged in a box with disgusting green peppers and who knows what else already mixed in with it. Subway has no grill. And no Provolone Cheese. Gross! The chutzpah you have to suggest Subway to someone looking for a decent Cheese Steak. Oy Vey! What a shanda

There are three places I can think of that serve good Philly Cheese Steaks:

1) Philly Style Steaks and Subs off of Tidewater Dr. in Norfolk
2) Sal's Famous New York Pizza off of N. Military Highway in the Target Shopping center behind Applebees
3) Fat Phillys off of Azalea Garden Rd in Norfolk

Of all three, I would have to say that Sal's has the best Cheese Steak. The seasoning and the cheese are just right. You can get the works on it also as far as peppers, onions, etc. But Do not let the name fool you. Their subs are really good. No exadderation. They also have a BBQ chicken and Cheese Sub thats really good. The pizza is very good also. I remember someone asking about real authentic NY pizza a while back. They have it.

Default As for Chinese

There is a very good new Chinese restaurant off North Lynnhaven called Hong Kong. It is near the intersection of the Farm Fresh. I agree that most of the places around here look terrible. I stopped going to a Chinese restaurant at Hilltop because of cockroaches in the place!

As for good cheesesteaks. I have given up around here.

Don't know which one you went to, but they have an AWESOME menu and we never have a problem getting a side dish of "quac" to go with the complimentary chips and salsa!

Yes, Erma, they did have guacamole dip as an appetizer to go with your chips. That's not what we were wanting. All she wanted was about a scoopful because she likes guac on her taco. This is something that every other Mexican restaurant we've been to can do for us for about a buck, or sometimes no charge at all. Our waitress said we could not do that, we'd have to pay $3.50 and get the big appetizer. I won't go back to a restaurant that is so unaccommodating.

Great Bridge Grill has KILLER Philly Cheesesteaks. They were #1 in the VA Pilot's survey of cheesesteaks across Hampton Roads. If youl ove cheesesteaks - you gotta try'em. They are out of this world.

360 make good stuff, but Casa DiCostanza in Chesapeake is the real deal.
Philly steaks are good at Mr. Jim's in Chesapeake but they are no Pat's in Philadelphia!
