Best Malls, or shopping strips? Best time of day? Not safe at night? Where?
Best Shopping for Food places...What day is best to shop? Where?
Best Places to buy furniture, appliances, and etc...Any info is appreciated.
Best time to go to these places and best time to avoid them, either for crime or traffic or both.

For Instance, on a Friday at 3 pm...60 and 64 are horrible, it took me over 2 hours to drive from my residence to Oyster Point, cause of traffic...So I never go down that way on Friday around that time of day...Is there another route to take?

I love the bargains at Walmart...I go to both in NN and Wbg. but is there a better day to shop for my grocerires? Anyone know?

I am trying to become a better shopper and thought others might want to be too, so I thought I start a thread on being "Thrifty"...I also love thrift stores and visit them at least three times a year for items needed...I have saved a ton of money on what someone threw out and owned for maybe three days?! Its amazing, but I would like to hear what you all think here, I hope this is on topic, if not, sorry!

Anne

you might start a thread on the "thrifty" places since that is what you want. "Best" is of course subjective. My best place is Binn's on merchant's square, clearly not thrifty. Stein mart can be good - and it is very thrifty.

if it took you 2 hr to get ot oyster point, even on a friday, something unusual happened. it is 30-45 min in normal-heavy traffic. i'm at the beach in NC in 2 hr.

how long have you lived here? Plenty of thrifty places - just get out a discover. as you know we don;t have alot of malls, richmond can't be considered HR - worth going to shop though, so it might be worth doing so when you shop for houses in the midlothian area.

One of my fave places to eat Chinese is next to Kmart off of Bypass road, the food is soooo good and a bargain and your selection is really out of this world, but we go maybe once a month or less, cause we want to stay healthy! Buffets save money but certainly not any cals! The name escapes me as I have not lived here very long...Anne.

That is true, will see what the moderators think of this, if not, I can always restart a new thread. We been here for bout 7 months, since last May. I like Steinmart when they have their sales. I never been to Binns but I do enjoy the merchant square shops, esp around xmas time.

Patrick Henry Mall is nice but not on a weekend night, I have heard of alot of problems there from mall employess actually being harassed going to work. They had installed a new emergency alert system that all stores can be heard from a central policing center, some employees are not too happy with this issue as well. I never had any problems down there but then again I usually go during the day when my children are in school, actually in the am for the most part, and its rare, as I try to stay away from malls anyhow...I do not know of any other mall around this area that is just as nice, except for maybe Richmond?
