My daughter just moved there to work and is living in Ghent - but we are staying at the beach to celebrate her birthday.

Any suggestions on good french or seafood restaurants? Expensive is okay - just not exorbitant prices.

Any nice spas in the Va Beach oceanfront area that are not terribly expensive?

Thanks

I love Italian. At around 9th or 10th and Atlantic is Il Giordino. I love it!! they have a piano bar and it is lovely. A great locals hang out. A lot of locals also like Mahi Ma's, which is seafood.

And for a Spa, check out Spa Phoenix on Laskin Blvd.

Good Luck : )

Default VA Beach food and fun!

Hi Timeshare Queen,
I just moved to Charlotte from VA Beach 3 weeks ago. There are plenty of good places to eat around there but I'll give you my two favorites.
Try "Mahi Mah's" on Atlantic (around 5th street or 6th street, on the ocean side of the street). It is a hoppin' place with good food, lots of music and a nice view of the ocean. I recommend the baked crab cake sandwich, a local favorite.
Down at "Rudee Inlet" (the south end of Pacific), there is another local favorite called "Dirty Dick's." The decor is pretty plain but I always had good service and good food. Nice little shop to find a ridiculous t-shirt to commemorate your visit to Dirty Dicks, also.
Make it a point to check the VA Beach calendar of events because the oceanfront has some neat festivals on the weekends, also.
If you need some more ideas of things to see and do, let me know. I have a whole treasure chest full of ideas. Have fun!

oh, and another place that locals like is Rudee's, located at Rudee Inlet. Great place for seafood and nice view of the marina.

Every time I come here it's food, food, and more food...

Try Atlas Bar and Grill. They have good specials and great salads.
