What's a fun area to live in around Chesapeake?

I have a friend that moved there but he's married so I want to be close to them, but also be able to get to a Singles scene with ease.

Any insight on the area would be great since I haven't been to VA yet.

Thanks! -gage

There pretty much isn't a singles scene in Chesapeake. It's either extremely suburban or somewhat country. The closest thing you'll find to a singles scene there is at a dive bar or a Buffalo Wild Wings in Greenbrier.

For anything resembling a singles scene here, and that's stretching things, you'll have to go out to Virginia Beach or Norfolk.

Virginia Beach has some bars in Town Center and some bars and clubs down at the Ocean front. Norfolk has bars and clubs in downtown on Granby street and some bars in the Ghent area.

Are you male or female? If you're a woman, then you'll have a pretty easy time wherever you go. If you're a man, well, you might want to pick a different place to live because the singles scene here is absolutely terrible for guys.
