Please help. I am desperately looking for daycare for my infant child around Hampton/Newport News or Chesapeake. I live in Carrollton which is sort of in the middle? Any suggestions?

You should be able to contact the local YMCA for recommendations if you want private in-home care. If you prefer a larger daycare, like Kindercare, see what they have to offer and sit-in with your baby for a few hrs.

You can try visiting this site for help: VACCRRN. Unfortunately finding care for a child who is less than one is very difficult. One thing I did when looking for child care was see if the center is licensed and what kind of violations the center may have from the Virginia Department of Social Services. The Kindercare near me, for example, had a few serious violations, so I crossed it off the list. My child was old enough to be eligible for several places that did not take infants, but I still ended up placing my little one on several waiting lists before I found a good place. The good ones tend to fill. The ones with openings often have spots for a reason. Unfortunately there are some really bad daycares out there. Good luck.

Can you please tell me where your little one ended up? Or at least a couple of the facilities where you were placed on the waiting list. I already have the baby and it is difficult to look. I just need some good recommendations. Thx.
