Does anyone know if there are any plans for a Whole Foods in the area? Are there any good organic food stores in VB in particular that I should know about (other than the new TJ's)?

Farm Fresh has a pretty good selection, but not to the extent the specialty stores do.

Heritage is definitely worth checking out and you might have luck with Organic Food Depot, though I haven't been to one in about a year. There are locations in Virginia Beach(off of Holland Rd. near Mt. Trashmore), in Norfolk (off of Granby St. near 19th st-I think), and in Olde Town Portsmouth.

Thanks, The Heritage looks great. I hope they do open a Whole Foods soon. I love their prepared foods, esp. the sushi! I would think that a beach town would have more and better sushi restaurants! Any recommendations on that? Please don't say Mahi Mah's!

There are many sushi restaurants. Sushi & West is good, Misako's is good, it just depends where you prefer you get it. Kyosho's on Newtown road has probably the freshest sushi I've had in this area. My preference of good sushi is in Japan and Hawaii.

Right there in Hilltop there is a Fresh Foods... kinda like whole foods.... I think it is called fresh foods... It is by the Steinmart.....

Do you mean Fresh Market? They aren't all organic, though they do have a small organic selection. Thanks for the sushi recommendations!

Yes that is the name... fresh market... Sorry I am a newbie here too... I have been in there once...I thought I saw organic.... We moved here from Nebraska and had a FABULOUS Whole foods.... I miss that store too... Have you checked out TJ's yet? I havent made my way there.....In fact I have never been to one....
