I'm so happy I got a teaching job in Suffolk, but now I have to figure out where to live. I'm not much of a country living kind of girl, but also don't want to travel a great distance to work every day. Some people I spoke to said that the west Chesapeake area would be good if I work in Suffolk. So, any one have some advice as to places to live that are relatively close to Suffolk?

Why not live in Suffolk? It is a nice area, and you can still get some nice properties at decent prices. check it out.

mastersm9, not all of suffolk is "in the country". the northern part up by the water is becoming quite the area. Have you found a place yet?

What's the school you will be teaching at? That will give us an idea of where you will be commuting to...

Wow you are far out there...lol

Suffolk is exploding so you could live nearby the school and not feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. Most of the development is in Northern Suffolk but there is also Chesapeake (parts of which are closer to you)

I believe there is new development around downtown Suffolk but I am shaky on the details...
