Have you ever thought about going to college or a trade school? I was having the same problem, then I decided to go to a trade school for nursing. I'll be finish next year and it didn't take long! Maybe you should try looking at the hospitals and nursing homes because you have food handling experience. You can work in the dietary department. I hope that helped!

With no formal education and no skills to speak of, it's going to be real tough.

If you are interested in the construction trade then I think you may have some options. Due to the stimulus there has been a lot of jobs that need to filled by a certain amount of unexperienced women and or minorities. They require no experience and will train you for a particular trade. I cannot guarantee anything but it may be worth looking into.
