Some folks are saying this is a good thing to make Waterside more family friendly. I have some good memories of Bar Norfolk - I wonder if both places will get their permits back soon anyways.

I would say no.....Norfolk wants the bar scene to be more just on Granby Street with areas as you stated around Waterside more family friendly

I prefer waterside the way it used to be before the bars moved in.

Eventually they will run all the businesses out waterside and demolish it and rebuild something else there. It's only a matter of time.

I agree it is just a matter of time......Waterside has long past its prime and is just a hole that the city constantly has to poor money into.....And sure that is nothing new for the city of Norfolk but prime waterfront property is not something you just sit on.......

Exactly, more suburbs and expensive condos. I used to go to Bar of Norfolk about 4 or 5 years ago and most of the women in there were Navy wives, has it gotten that bad now?

Actually, Have a Night Day Cafe was the only one that opened up last night. They were also issued a citation for selling alcohol as well. However, Bar Norfolk will be opening tonight. ((They are both owned by the same company, for those who didn't know))

Something else interesting, while both bars have had their city licenses revoked, they are still licensed by the ABC.
