Thank you for being tolerable on hot days. Thank you for being nice most of the time. Thank you for your green trees, grass and beautiful colored flowers. I missed seeing these things. Thanks for that ladybug that came to say hello. I have missed you too. Living in a desert for 25 years, I feel as happy as can be to have seasons, and people who are kind, hold open the door and don't slam it in your face. Thank you people who have stopped without me flagging you down to help me find my way when I was lost. Thank you to the guy working at the starbucks who took over 5 minutes to look up on his cell phone directions and write them down for me when I was lost in the rain and didn't know where I was. I am so happy to be here.

Well, glad you are enjoying the area. I don't know how long you have been here, but fall is beautiful here (temp wise). We love to go walk around Colonial Williamsburg in the fall when most of the tourists have left town.

I am glad if I made your day. I just moved here about a month ago. I was living in the Phoenix area for about 25 years (long story) and couldn't leave. I am originally from the midwest and miss the greenery and the pleasant weather. I really did mean all that I said. I will never again live in 115 degree weather no matter what. I love the feeling of community on the east coast. I really missed it. Have a good day-or make it one!

We moved to the area about four months ago and we really like it, too! Great weather, friendly people, so lush and green--my husband said he couldn't figure out why everyone doesn't live here! Happy to have you!

I have been living here for 13 years and even if the beginning was hard it is now my home.
I am originally from Germany and after living in Florida and Texas, Virginias weather and nature is more like my home where I grew up.(Germany)

I love how close the OBX are and my family and I adore Hatteras and Ocracoke Island.
There are tons of concerts through the year and so many wonderful art and craft fairs and festivals.

There is so much positive here but so many people here on the board trash this area.

When my family from Germany came to visit they all liked it here.

I was on a flight that got diverted to Phoenix due to rain in Vegas. Only landed there, but I remember the distinct look of the desert :-) Like Vegas but without the Casinos.

Coming back to East Coast after being in Vegas while it was raining here was wild, because the green really hits you.

Welcome to Virginia =). I also came here from Phoenix a couple years ago after living there for 20+ years. I remember how excited I was to see trees and grass, and can't tell you how happy I am for there a simple breeze. I visited Phoenix this past July (wrong time to visit BTW) and it was 115 my first day and 107-115 the rest of the week. Ground was scorching hot, air was stale and dry, and it was already past 90 degrees by 9 am.

I love it here, with exception of the streets & traffic. You get so used to the cookie cutter streets of Phoenix that the twisty and curvy streets here, and the extreme overuse of medians make getting around a bit tedious. But that beautiful breeze makes you forget it all.

I hope you like it as much as I do. WELCOME!
