hello! My husband is station @ norfolk naval base. We are looking to rent a townhouse or single family home in norfolk or virginia beach. The only problem is I am in nursing school & we have a 10 month old daughter & it's becoming a huge task to find a safe place for us that we can afford. I don't want an apartment simply b/c it is so noisy in an apartment. Can anyone tell me some neighborhoods to STAY AWAY from & some that are safe but affordable? Thanks!

Please email me with your responses...

It is Thomas Nelson Community college. & no.. not really. We can afford around 850-860 TOPS monthly. & that is if it includes sewage & water. We might be looking in the Newport News area again simply b/c his ship is in Newport news right now...

that is probably a good idea to stay on that side of the river. Mr. williamsburg knows that area better than me and can probably help you better...

Can't have everything if you ain't got the dough.

Housing in the region is reatarded expensive, considering the area. Most likely this is due to the military.
