Hi everyone,

My husband and I are moving to the area in August and are having a hard time finding anyone that will allow our pits (who also live with two cats and have no problems, by the way). They were both rescued and we are NOT giving them up. We're willing to pay extra for our own insurance to cover the dogs if that'll make the landlord feel better. They're both going through an excellent training program right now as well.

If anyone knows any good agents to talk to or places to go, please let me know! Thank you!

Lynda, your best bet would be to try to find a rental with a private owner. Any large management complex will have rules forbidding "aggressive breeds" and are unable to make exceptions, but you might be able to find a private owner who would be willing. Then, I'd give them a reference from your vet that your dog is a good-natured dog with a good personality to give them the piece of mind.

LyndaMarlena, what part of Hampton Roads are you looking in? I agree with Randomlikeme that you should concentrate on private owners. Have you been looking on Craigslist?

Good luck.

Thank you for the info...I will definitely check with my Vet on the letter and maybe I can get one from her trainer when she took a basic obedience

My husband and I are thinking about moving to virginia beach area in the next yr. We are also having a hard time finding a place that will allow our 2 Pitt bulls. And that is also reasonably priced. I know it is best to go through a private landlord then a company. If anyone has any names of landlords please let me know.
