Is there a meat market here? A local butcher store? A place to buy great steaks? Or am I committed to getting my meat from Ukrops, Farm Fresh, Food Lion, etc.? I can't stand Walmart meat...

you didn't say where you are? In Va. Beach there is a good meat/butcher shop on Seaboard Rd., off Princess Anne Rd by Princess Anne Middle School. I am not sure of the name, just know where it is.... I hope this helps : )

You can buy farm fresh meats from Full Quiver Farm. They are based out of Suffolk but make deliveries all around Hampton Roads at key points. You just place your order and go pick it up on the designated day at the designated location. It's a very popular farm with a good reputation.

Welcome to Full Quiver Farm

Fresh Market has a butcher with probably the best meat in Williamsurg! It's located off Jamestown Rd.

There are many great options in Virginia Beach for those wanting to avoid the sickly feedlot junk sold in most grocery stores.

The one at Farmer's Market is called The Country Butcher. That's at the corner of Princess Anne and Dam Neck. Outstanding place...superb quality. With about an hour notice they will have anything from a chateaubriand to a chuck roast cut up and ready to go with your name on it.

There is the Village Butcher at Hilltop Shopping Center (Laskin and First Colonial).

Right next store (still in Hilltop), the Fresh Market has it's own kind of in-house setup where the meat is displayed in cases, not put on tissue paper and shrinkwrapped.
