The last thread got just a little too big, so I figured to create a 2010 version to keep track of stuff for this year.

Some Tourist Information:

Busch Gardens Williamsburg is open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until the end of October
Link to their calendar and hours information

Water Country USA is now closed for the year.
Link to their calendar and hours information

Virginia Beach Oceanfront Parking:
Here is a link to parking costs and interactive map

Also if you're looking to visit Hampton Roads, I would definitely check out this site for listings, hours, contact information, and prices of the countless things Hampton Roads has to offer.

If you can think of big attractions or tourist sites that should be posted on this front page, message me the details and I'll add it to the above list.

Default Festival of Flight

"5/22-23
The 13th Annual Virginia Festival of Flight
Location:
Suffolk Executive Airport
Come see hundreds of homebuilt, antique, classic, military, ultralight, and powered parachute aircraft at the Suffolk Executive Airport during the largest aircraft "Fly-In" in the Mid-Atlantic. See Radio Controlled aircraft on display. Examine all the airplanes up close; talk with pilots and builders. Visit the Youth Tent for hands-on activities. Kids and parents, come fly Control Line Models with an instructor at your elbow! Participate in aviation-related forums and "do it yourself" workshops. Since there is no Aerobatic Air Show aircraft will be free to arrive and depart all day keeping the air buzzing.
Sat. 8am-5pm; Sun. 8am-4pm. Admission fee required.
Suffolk Division of Tourism, 757-514-4130."

Went today with my 3-year old son.

Kind of neat...dozens of full-size planes, many on static display and always seem to be some flying, RC planes flying, the kids craft tent is *extremely* well done (they build stomp rockets, planes, and parachutes from simple materials and test them out).

Well worth your time if you have any interest in aviation. Was ~$10 per person, young kids free (think it was 10 year old or younger?)

I used to be stationed at Ft Monroe several years ago. I remember every summer they had hydroplace reces in the bay there. I can't remember exactly what month, but that may be somthing to look into.
