Hello everyone - I may well be moving to the area soon, my (potential) work will be in Chesapeake, but we are not at all limited in where we'd like to find a place to rent (house preferably). My question is my 11 year old daughter, adopted and diagnosed with Reactive Attachment Disorder...long story short she's very bright and intelligent, but academically she's routinely a bit behind most of the other kids in school here. Just curious if anyone had any middle school suggestions where her disorder would not be swept under the rug.

Oh, and anybody know of a good rental agency to deal with? Our problem seems to be we have a large dog!

Thanks!

I don't know about the dog, rental agency or price of housing. You might want to check Craigslist Hampton Roads though.

When I moved to this area, several years ago, I emailed a professor in the education department at Old Dominion University in Norfolk about schools. Within Chesapeake, she mentioned two districts. The first was Chittum Elementary /Joliff Middle/ Western Branch--school district, and she recommended another school district too--- but I can't remember which one. I think it was Great Bridge or Greenbriar. We haven't needed special services, but we have very much enjoyed our school district. I hope that this helps. I believe that there are quite a few well regarded schools within Chesapeake. I wish that I knew more.
