really, though, the mall is pretty much crap (from a younger standpoint), you can only walk the noland trail so many times, and the living museum, while awesome (especially since they've redone it!), you can only go to once or twice before you've really seen it all. So overall, not much here for a young couple - they'd be better off in va beach (though the prices over there can be a bit much).

They said they wanted suggestions on neighborhoods newport news or hampton. I just answered their question. They didnt ask anyones opinion of the area or if they think they should move here. It sounds like that decision has been made already. One of them probably got a job a northrup grumman or NASA. I dont see how saying they would be better off in virginia beach helps anything, nobody is gonna make that drive everyday for work. If they don't like the mall or the noland trail they can check out the mariners museum, the fine arts center, the air and space museum, go kayaking, go biking along the river, go to huntington park... I am young and married, I keep myself occupied in the area. Nobody is trying to sell Newport News as Boston, but it is fine for day to day life.

Well said UHgrad in your last two posts! It's a shame that someone trying to offer their personal opinion gets accused of being a liar or worse yet, a REALTOR. It's sad that more people on here weren't taught "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all." Many seem to bash EVERY city. It makes you wonder where THEY live (or if they live in one of those terrible cities, why don't they move).
