Here's my problem. I live on the 3rd floor of my apartment complex. The building I live in isn't facing sound for a clear view for a satellite dish. Even if they were to place it on a pole to get a clear signal, the apartment wouldn't let them run a wire up to my 3rd floor apartment. That would look so trashy.

So this leaves me stuck with cable tv. I've tried Cox and don't really like them. Way over priced for what you get. I canceled my service with them after a year back in February.

Is there anyone else that offers tv service in this area?

Doubtful Cox will ever have competition in the area - they have the infrastructure in place. Any new company would have to install new infrastructure - cost prohibitive - no company has expressed a serious interest. Anyone waiting for competition has a long wait.
Don't eliminate sat based solely on looks - by law that can't be a reason a housing area can't have sat.
Are you in The City or The County? Cox offers a few different channels between the two, basically the service is comparable.
Cox might offer you a deal for a few months to get you back as a customer if you're inclinded to go back to cable.
