If only I was in the position right now to move away from the State of Pennsylvania I would get out of here ASAP.

This is a corrupt state.

If I had the power, the following state agencies would be among about a dozen to be eliminated or Reorganized:

PA Dept of Health - Div of Nursing Care ...needs to be outsourced to those who want to protect the rights of the aged rather than turning a blind eye to violations of federal law.

PHRC - Prime candidate for abolishment. Ironically, racially hostile agency
Likes: Age, Gender, Disability Complaints - Couldn't care less about Race discrimination (lends discriminating employers a hand).

Insurance Dept - What purpose do they serve for the people???

Eliminating or reforming malfunctioning or useless agencies could save this state a whole lot of money.

Man, if I had a nickle for every post about how corrupt a poster's local gov is...

This is pretty much true everywhere, though it might not appear so at first. Local gov positions are all about taking care of buddies and getting good deals for The Powers That Be (themselves). Moving isn't going to change this, you just get a different set of corruption/problems. The best you can hope for is someone to be elected that's smart enough to make choices that grow and develop a city by bringing in jobs and encouraging community growth.

Japan has had its share:

I have lived in at least a half dozen places since leaving PA and the corruption issues have been present in all of them. If there's a buck to be made someone will figure out how to do it.
