Hello,

We're a family of 4, moving from Ann Arbor, Mi. Just recently found a job in Chambersburg, PA and will be relocating this June. Have a son that will start high school and a daughter in third grade next year. My daughter will attend a Catholic School, and my son most likely won't. He wants a good school, with a decent football team and a class size no larger than 200 students. We need the area to be within 30 minutes of Frederick (as my wife is looking for employment in that area) and 30 minutes from Chambersburg, PA (as that's where my job is located). Probably will be renting initially (would like to pay no more than $1700/month for a house) due to the timing. Any ideas on where to look? We don't mind a smaller town but don't want to have to drive more than 15 minutes to get groceries and do stuff. We don't have a ton of requirements, just good schools are the main focus. Please advise. We'll be coming out in the next couple of weeks to explore and try to find housing and schools to get the kids settled. Thanks so much!!

This was cross-posted in the Maryland page as well!!

Hoping a local poster will jump in here, but here's some links to help with your school search - SchoolMatters (http://www.schoolmatters.com/ - broken link) and Pennsylvania Schools - Find a Public or Private Pennsylvania School - SchoolDigger.com While numbers aren't everything, they do give you a basis to start the search. Good luck!

Waynesboro area may be worth looking into, small town with many new homes and old too.

This should get moved to the general PA forum, it's outside the Harrisburg metro counties. Much discussion of Chambersburg area on the statewide forum, with more direct experiences with schools related.
