State workers: How does your job change when a new administration is elected?

Are people who are associated with the other political party shunted aside?

What has your experience been?

It really doesn't. I do my job exactly the same regardless of what political party the governor or his / her administration represents.

We really don't have political divisions like the legislature does, so nobody is really "associated" with any political party. Thus, there's no shunting -- at least not any more than any other workplace.

The only tangible issue is how an administration might want to fund / defund parts of the government. For example, one of Gov Corbett's big agenda points is the privatization of liquor sales here in PA. This might have an impact for employees at the Liquor Control Board and state stores, but won't necessarily impact the employment of someone working for, say, DEP.
