Hi. I'm looking for a small, affordable single home ($160K Max) in a low property tax area. Lancaster County prices are moving quickly, but I'd still like to be within a comfortable (under an hour) driving distance, and York County is right over the river. I prefer semi-rural or suburban quiet areas that have public water and sewer. I'm not interested in night life, but would like to be within a half-hour of shopping, banks, gas stations, pharmacies, etc for necessities.
Although I'll be collecting SS early at 62, nine months from now, I will probably still work at something part-time such as substitute teaching (PA certified) or pet sitting (MUCH more fun!)
I am not interested in any retirement communities as they don't allow fencing for dogs.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
