Our family just relocated to Lebanon, and I was wondering if anyone could refer us to some good doctors? Right now, I'm mainly looking for a good pediatrician for my daughter, and a good ob/gyn, as we recently learned that we are expecting another baby! Obviously, I want the doctors to be knowledgable and efficient, but bedside manner and taking time to explain things/answer questions are just as important to me. I would also prefer, if possible, to find one where we can see the same doctor each time, rather than see someone different all the time. Also, since I know nothing about this area yet, what is the best hospital (if there is more than one?)? I know about Hershey Medical Center, but I didn't know if there were others closer that were worth even going to, or if we would be better off just making the trip to Hershey. If there are good doctors and hospitals close by, I would prefer closer than farther, but I will be willing to go to Hershey, if necessary. I do not want to go any further, thouth. Thanks so much for any help...I found my last ob/gyn through referrals from city-data, and he was the best EVER, so I'm hoping to have just as much luck this time!

I don't live in Lebanon, but I have visited there and know someone who does. I don't have any specific MD recommendations but my friend told me that if they get sick they would prefer to go to Hershey Medical Center not Good Samaritan Hospital which is in Lebanon. I believe Lebanon only has 1 hospital. Hershey MC is supposed to be a better hospital and has good doctors there. After I asked someone in Harrisburg, which is the best hospital to go to if I get sick over there, they recommended Hershey Medical Center especially for the OB/ GYN specialty. For me, that would have been unlikely because I didn't have my car with me and wouldn't be able to travel so far especially if I was sick.

If no one posts any specific MD recommendations my suggestion to you would be to look up the OB/GYN and Peds MDs that are affiliated with Hershey Medical Center and see if they have any private practice offices in lebanon. Or better yet maybe one who has admitting privileges to both hospitals- just a suggestion.

Thanks for your input....I guess no one else has any ideas! : ) I've still been doing my research, but there's not much out there...guess I'll just have to jump in and find out for myself!
