Is it wise to stay in Harrisburgh when visiting Hershey park? Or is it a pain in the butt? The Hershey Hotel and Hershey Lodge are too expensive right now. We are looking for a nice place to stay for 2 adults and a 1 year old baby. Has anyone stayed at The Rodeway Inn a few blocks from Hershey Park? I have never had so much trouble deciding on a hotel before. We are looking to spend up to $150 a night for 2 nights.

Instead of Harrisburg (no H) (lots of traffic) - check the smaller towns, Palmyra, Lebanon, etc. (an easy drive to Hershey).

Depending on where you're coming from, there are a few hotels right at I-81's Exit 77 and Exit 80 that may be convenient for you. The Holiday Inn at Exit 80 is nice, definitely adequate but nothing special for 100-125 a night. It's also less than a mile from Hollywood Casino, technically in the town of Grantville. The Econo Lodge at Exit 77 is an okay hotel if budget is your first priority, it can't be more than 75 a night, but then again it's a low end hotel. Both of these are within 10 minutes of the park. If you can splurge, you won't regret it with the Hershey Lodge/Hotel though, they're amazing! Enjoy your stay in Central PA!

We always stay here, SpringHill Suites Harrisburg Hershey: Suite Hotel in Harrisburg

The room rates have always been right around 150 or less a night. Although we never go to Hershey on the weekends, so I'm not sure how high the rates are then.

But, it's clean, new, and a decent free hot breakfast.
