What types of activities are you interested in pursuing? Outside, inside, theatre and arts, volunteering?

The United Way has a list of places that need volunteers; libraries, schools, agencies and organizations, events etc. Both hospitals have a volunteer program (you can find them on line at Wellspan.org or Memorial Hospital website). The Strand theater and York Little Theater both utilize volunteers for their shows and events.

If you like to hike and bike there are a number of groups formed for those activities. The rail trail that starts near the courthouse extends down to the Maryland line and is very popular for runners, bicycles and even horse back riding. There is a ski club (actually there are several, the Susquehanna one seems to be the most active) in York. If you like to knit there is a shop that holds classes and open knit/chat sessions at the store (Queensgate Shopping Center). Many of the churches have life groups, held outside of traditional Sunday services, that are quite active and organize social activities and outings for their members.

If you want more information, send me a private message~good luck!
