Is there a preferred district on the west side of the river? We were originally thinking of moving to the Hershey/ Hummelstown area, but are now leaning to the Mechanicsburg/ Camp Hill area - possibly even Carlisle. Any suggestions/ opinions/ advice would be much appreciated! We have two elementary aged children.

Thank you!

Cumberland valley s good but big. Camp Hill, good but tiny (many places with Camp Hill addresses are not in the borough). I don't think there's anywhere terrible, but those two districts are the highest rated.

If you are in CV, check school boundaries. I would recommend avoiding Monroe and Middlesex. They're the smallest schools and there are issues with specials teachers rotating. Also, long bus rides (most of Monroe is quite rural, but there are some new developments in Middlesex Twp, and recent changes shifted a small part of Silver Spring Twp into Monroe).

Although I see from your other thread you've taken a job in Hershey. Be warned it's a good 30 minute plus drive and 83 can get congested.
