WE drove from Lancaster to Lewistown Pa, followed route 322 after Harrisburg. About 20-30 minutes before reaching Lewistown we came upon the mountains/ They were breathtaking and amazing. peaks and valleys galore. I was so amazed and impressed never bothered to check road signs. we were just surrounded by amazing mountains and I was in awe. I have been all over the east coast and to me these were prettiest of all. could it have been duncannon or shirleysburg. the mountains were so close to ne another. Hope someone knows I would love to go back there thanks

From the description you gave, my best guess is either Thompsontown or Mifflintown especially if it was before the Lewistown Narrows.
