Hello...I am relocating to PA for a position in Middletown. I have a daughter in high school so the school district is important. I would like to live near an area that might possibly have horse stables so semi rural is ok but I don't want a long commute, 25 minutes at the most. Can someone sugest an area, does Camp Hill sound ok. I also enjoy a walk to the store so a nearby shopping center, small or large, would be great.

I'm sorry I can't help with school information, but IMO a commute from Camp Hill to Middletown would be a PITA for me. I've seen worse, but you could do better. Consider Hershey, Hummelstown, Linglestown, Paxtonia, even Palymyra and Annville.

Just east of Middletown, Londonderry and Conewago Townships (Dauphin County: note township names can repeat in PA, there are other "Londonderry" and "Conewago" municipalities) are in the well rated Lower Dauphin school district and remain mostly semi-rural. Some areas have Middletown postal address, some areas Elizabethtown, a little bit of Hummelstown and Hershey addresses too. There are some large scale residential development projects on the horizon so it would not hurt to inquire locally about the future of the immediate neighborhood in these areas. Some seemingly cheap properties in these areas might be floodplain, others might have a view of Three Mile Island.
