Hi,
I am buying a multi family property in Steelton PA. How safe is the area for renting?
What type of place is Steelton? Can someone tell me is it a good place for houses to buy?
Thanks
Gowri

Steelton is ghetto. I can't speak to specific streets or areas, but Steelton as a whole has a pretty poor rep.

Steelton is typical PA ghetto. It once was a thriving industrial town, now welfare and drug use/selling is the norm. I wouldn't invest in real estate there. The situation isn't going to improve anytime soon.

Pretty much what they said. Steelton is a trashy area. It's even worst than Harrisburg if you can imagine that. I've never seen any nice properties in or around that area. I would expect any tenants you get to be pretty ghetto and not only not pay their rent on time, but will probably will trash the place in the process.
