Hello everyone. What a great site. I'll get right to it. My wife and I moved from NYC to NJ to WPB Florida and now we are moving back. People don't realize how bad it is in Florida 1 block in the wrong direction and you’re on some gang’s turf. Its great to vacation but living here is not a vacation.

We can't make up our minds but definitely the north east, maybe PA. We have no children yet, hopefully one day real soon. I love to ATV and love the water. Snow doesn't bother us; in fact we miss the seasons so!!! We want to be in a safe area and are not really concerned yet with schools, we hate traffic and I am looking for a more country feel. I would like land or at least be close enough to be able to go riding. We also don't want to be slaves to bills so affordability is important as well. HMM cheap, safe and fun sounds good to me. I have researched a couple of jobs and I have seen some good opportunities in Harrisburg area. Any pictures of the area and suggestions of other areas are appreciated.

Here is a nice overview of HBG beyonddc.com/galleries2/Harrisburg2006 I would suggest Hbg area for anyone new to Central PA. There are many nice areas around Hbg. North of I-81, Hershey area and the "west shore" Camp Hill areas are nice. If you like the country I would suggest living off of 322 North or further out 81 North from Hbg.

Inner city Harrisburg is pretty nasty. there are gangs and crime in the allison hill section, and also some in uptown. downtown is pretty safe and secure. the whole area around here has really been developed, we now have 3 TARGET stores within 10 miles of each other. There are housing complexes all over the place and traffic congestion is terrible. Ninjajoe said the following. north of i-81 or 322. 322 has TOTALLY bee developed, there isnt a piece of land left. literally all along cameron street out to campbelltopn and even fontana. there isnt anything left. all behind walmart in rutherford and lawnton is totally builtup now. north of i-81 is also totally being developed. west hanover, east hanover, grantville and on up to lickdale is pretty much being bought up by trucking companies or warehouses. most of it is because of the casino that is going to be next to penn national in grantville. home prices in that area have tripled, it is really rediculous.

if you do come to this area, get realy for traffic, bad roads and corrupt politicians. haha.

but most of the pople are friendly and down to earth. you would get to know them, especially if you joined a church or local organization, such as the lions club or jc's. we are a small town area really, but plenty of jobs and constantly growing.
