Dauphin Borough is in the Central Dauphin School District. I don't know enough about the schools in Halifax to give you an opinion on them, and since I am a graduate of the CD School District, my opinion could be somewhat biased and leaning towards CD, because obviously, being a larger school district (the largest one in Dauphin County), it has more resources and educational programs available to students.

Thank you, cynthialee. My thought too would be that Central Dauphin SD proper (not east) would be the better choice due to more of an abundance of resources. I also like that they partake in a "mini-THON" event to help fund Penn State's fight against cancer.

Actually, Halifax has a mini-THON too:

It's interesting to see how two superficially similar nearby communities as Dauphin and Halifax can have such different school environments. Also worth noting that Halifax actually has better daily/weekly shopping opportunities (Giant, Rite Aid, etc.) as Dauphin is too close to the main suburbs to keep those.
