Hi All,

So something that I absolutely loved from the eastern end of the state were the Philadelphia-style tomato pies (this is not the kind that has chunks of tomatoes and comes in a pie shape, it's more like pizza but without the cheese). Does anyone know where one can get these tomato pies in the Harrisburg area? I tried the Tomato Pie Cafe but theirs was not the Philly style, it was more of a "pie shape" with chunks of tomatoes and cheese in it (sadly disappointed...). Seems like it's either unknown or a huge secret out this way. Below is a link to what they generally look like. Thank you!

I suspect you're out of luck. There is almost no Neapolitan/Sicilian in the ethnic makeup of the 717, other than subsequent generation relocatees.

Try Wegmans bakery not the market café. I've seen tomato pies at Wegmans. They might make it on request. They also make kimmelweck rolls on request.

I can't think of any places specifically, but I am sure there is somewhere.

Do this:

Hit up Philadelphia Hoagies and Cheesesteaks. They have 2 locations. One in Downtown Harrisburg on 4th street across from Strawberry Square or one in Camp Hill. The Downtown Harrisburg location is just open for lunch.

(They are out of this world. For a minute when you take that first bite you will be transported back to Philly). - Conveniently Philly Pretzel Company is right next to them in Camp Hill if you want some Philly pretzels too. lmao

Here is the site:
Philadelphia Steaks and Hoagies – Philly Steak Please! PSH has a long history of providing its customers with made to order cheesesteaks and hoagies using rolls straight from Philadelphia. This allows us to provide you with that authentic Phill

When you go in there ask the owners. They seem to know how put a little slice of Philly in Harrisburg. So maybe they know where the other slices are? lol
