Does anyone have any suggestions for an Asian barber or hair stylist in the greater Harrisburg area? I'd appreciate suggestions from fellow Asians or close friends/family of Asians if you're out there.

Btw, I'm not trying to be racist. There are actual differences between the texture of Asian hair and Caucasian hair (Google it if you're curious). Asian stylists tend to handle the unique texture of Asian hair better in my experience. If you're Asian, you understand.

My alternative is to take a train into Philadelphia every month, which is ridiculous for a 10 minute, $10 haircut. Therefore I'd be fine with options that may extend into the York or Lancaster areas as well.

Have you been to the Asia Mall in Harrisburg?

I believe there is a salon there that specializing in Asian hair. I would LOVE if Harrisburg had a more consolidated Asian neighborhood, but I think the Asia Mall is offers one of the more collective Asian community business establishments in the immediate area.

As I said I am very confident there is a salon in that shopping area, and I would also go there and just ask employees/patrons of some of the businesses of any other suggestions as well.

There's a barber shop across the street from the Wal Mart and Capital City Mall in Camp Hill. There is an Asian guy in one of the chairs and he does a lot of business from what I've seen.

I was looking at this forum for a month hoping someone would update it, but I found one on my own in Lancaster that is amazing! He gave me the best haircut I’ve ever gotten. Great attention to detail and he understands how to cut Asian hair. He runs his own shop at Texture Salon at 717-676-6046. The address is 1361 Fruitville pike. It helps if you speak Chinese but his English is good too.
