Hubby and I are looking to relocate from city life to country life (ex-NY'ers and do not want anymore of the city).

He works from home and im stay at home. No children school age. We have seen Biglersville and East Berlin and like the country vibe. Any suggestions on other areas to see in Adams County? We are not looking for nightlife, fine dining, museums, etc. Just looking for safe, family orientated, lots of land and we are also on the conservative side and do frequent church. So, churches in the area would be great!

We are also considering areas in York County (we have been to Dillsburg and liked it). Any input on York county would be great too!

Thanks for the info!

Arendtsville and Orrtanna (western Adams County) are a couple great spots right on the east side of South Mountain - lots of natural beauty nearby. Abbottstown is also a great, "small-town" feel spot with close access to both Gettysburg and York.

Southern York County is also a great place to look if you're interested in being relatively close to metro areas (Baltimore and York) but feeling like you're totally out in the country. New Freedom and Delta are a couple areas you could look into.

Depending on the Christian denomination you're affiliated with, there are countless churches in the York/Adams County area to get involved with. In particular, Lutheran (which I am affiliated with) and Methodist churches are widespread in the area.

Happy house hunting!
