I haven't been to Lancaster in 40+ years and I'm sure a lot has changed. Can anyone tell me what the Cabbage Hill area of the city is like?
Thanks!

It's very mixed. One of the later-to-gentrification, transitional areas. We just moved here. It varies depending on the block you live on. When we first walked around it we said, No, not for us. Then we spent more time in the neighborhood and our 1st impression changed. It's complicated to answer your question. I can give you my impressions as a newcomer here, which will of course not be as deeply informed as someone who has lived here longer. I don't have any regret about moving here. The neighbors are friendly. It's not as loud as some parts of the city. It would be nice if there were more commercial elements to it; shops, cafes, etc. It's great for walkable access to downtown. There is a wider variety of housing; traditional brick rowhouses, duplexes with small yards, more detached single family homes than elsewhere in the city. More greenery than many parts of the city. It could use more attention to street trash, sidewalk weeds. It really depends on where in Cabbage Hill you are. Closer into the city downtown core, generally speaking, the more urban blight. Farther out toward Prospect Heights, more middle/working class... but those too are generalizations, not true of every block.
